Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season

Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season of December 2017 because my previous Maytag HE washer broke after 17 years. I have had nothing but issues with this washer right from the start. The clothes do not come clean as I find myself putting them through the wash cycle two or three times to have them washed and come somewhat clean. The clothes come out soaking wet that I have to put them through the rinse and spin cycle at least one or two more times. I called Lowe’s to complain about this washer and they said they only have a 30 day return policy and they would be happy to call for service for me. I told them it didn’t work from the start but they didn’t care. So now, sadly, I have a repairman coming this week to fix my new washer, And hopefully he can fix it that I can use it and it can properly wash clothes. I wish I would have her read the reviews on Consumer Affairs about this washer before purchasing this Maytag. Not happy with Maytag. I would have never bought it and bought a different brand. Codes appear on the face of the washer better. Nowhere in the manual that I had to personally download myself because it didn’t come with one. And oh did I mention that I need a step ladder to reach into the bottom of the tub? This washer should come yellow because it is definitely a lemon!

Something needs to be done because there are thousands of upset consumers out there, all with the same complaints and Maytag does nothing. It’s not Lowe’s fault. They didnt make the washer. SO SO disappointed. I thought by purchasing a Maytag washer and dryer that I was purchasing quality products. Not so. After only 3 yrs, the dryer is broken. It needs a new heating element assembly at $139 plus a visit from the technician and installation. In total, it will cost about $300 to repair. The washer is slowly going also. It takes about 2 minutes before it starts. Never used to do that. The technician told me that these do not last and that the computer is likely to go in another couple of years which will cost $400 to repair. I called Maytag to see what they could do for me. They offered the part at 1/2 price but insisted on another diagnosis even though Ive already had one. That along with their labor cost was going to cost more than anyone else. So no more Maytag products for me.

I purchased my Neptune Washer in 2005/2006. I had a mildew problem, and the store told me to clean it with bleach. It is now 6 years later, and the ball bearings are going out. I called two different repair companies, and were told by both they would save me the call out charge, because the ball bearings were going out, and it would cost between $ 600-$700 to fix, so I may as well buy a new one. The washer is only 6 years old. This is completely unacceptable! I then tried to find someone online to fix it, and I ran into the fact that the Neptune Washers had a recall. Why was I, not notified? I bought the washer and dryer set from a Maytag store. No one tried to reach me. I am now stuck with the problem of buying a new one, and really cannot afford one at this time. I went with Maytag due to the brand name, and I knew it would be reliable. Is the joke really on me? Can someone please call me, and point me in the right direction?

I agree with all the other one star remarks - clothes still dirty, still dry, hardly any water and if you use the bedding selection, it takes nearly 2 hours to wash a load and then it doesnt spin dry so you have to rinse and spin again. Very disappointed with the machine. Yes - class action lawsuit? How do we do this.

I have purchased my top loader Bravos washing machine 3 1/2 years ago and I have had nothing but troubles with my machine. I have had to replace the motherboard twice and I constantly have that foul smell in all our clothes. I have to wash each load twice and still the smell doesnt come out. I have also complained numerous times about the water level not being correct, but they keep saying that is how the high efficiency machine is. I can watch my load washing because we have the clear lid which I like. But at the same time, it gets me really angry seeing how this doesnt clean clothes like it should. I dont believe that the water levels are right at all. I have clothes that dont even get turned over as they are washing and I have even smaller loads than before. I can only clean 4 adult pairs of jeans at one time and I still think that is too much. I clean my machine every time the red light turns on with the Affresh tablets and sometimes I run a clean cycle with just bleach. Maytag has done nothing to try and correct these problems. Its so sad that I have to take my clothes to the laundry mat to go wash them and there I have absolutely no problems. They have the HE front loaders and they have enough water to wash my clothes and I can actually see them being washed. I will never buy a Maytag washer or dryer again. How sad you have all these complaints and no one to help you fix or correct them the right way.

Does not clean properly! Water level is too low for clothes to move around properly. This appears to be a very poorly engineered product. We have had Maytag products for many years. The only good thing I can say about this product is that it beats a scrub board. Would not recommend Maytag product to anyone. Looking at other complaints it appears that Maytag is doing nothing about this. Will try to sell this at a yard sale and hope no one asks my opinion. Then go buy something that works.

A refrigerator has to keep your food at constant temperature. The first Maytag refrigerator I purchased from Home Depot could not get cold. I mean the refrigerator never got below 65 degrees. I called Maytag and they played dumb. Just wait weeks for a repairman to check a brand new product that is not working. Home Depot replaced it in few days with another refrigerator of the same model. It runs but doesnt get really cold (it only has a fan in the freezer and the air comes down from the freezer to cool the refrigerator). I live with it because all you will get out of Maytag/Whirlpool is to turn the dial to a colder temp. A little over a year passes and the fan in the freezer just stops running. I called a local certified service person. He looks at the fan and says that its running but barely. I had to replace the motor at cost with labor of around 200 dollars. I kept the motor. Turns out the motor is made by Panasonic. The current replacement motor is made in Mexico. Now the refrigerator runs cold. Since I had two of these refrigerators that failed to get/stay cold, I think they got a bad batch of motors. Maytag response was to refuse to pay a dime, it is outside of the warranty - even though I had called about the refrigerator not getting real cold on the second refrigerator. So basically I lived with food being kept at a way too high of temp causing spoilage for a year and Maytag/Whirlpool could care less, they are only worried about their bottom line.That is not the only problem with their product. The drain pan grows a mold that looks like pudding. The only way to clean it is to pull the refrigerator out, take off the motor area cover (which is really cheap cardboard) and clean it out with a rag. There is no way to remove the pan. The compressor is mounted so low that it heats up the floor. I have concrete floors thus I have no fire risk but if you have wood floors, I would check the heat level. It is nearly impossible to clean the dust off the fins on the refrigerator coolant lines. The back of the freezer door shelves are metal and very sharp on the back. Thus if you stick your hand in to pick something up, you will get a nasty cut.I have owned only Maytag, Whirlpool and Amana products my entire life. I will never purchase their products again. They may pretend that you are buying an American product (they use the American flag) but this product is nothing but OEM garbage made by the lowest bidder. They try to sell you an extended warranty for around 300 bucks for an addition 3 years. I figured if the fridge went bad after 3 years, I would just buy a new one. I never expected a motor to fail less than a year (I would say it started going bad about 6 months into ownership as started making ice at a lower rate). Maytag refuses to stand behind their products. When I told them I had the motor that failed, they had no interest in even looking at it. Do not waste your money on their products. I also own a Maytag washer that is the worst washer I have ever owned.

Maytag Neptune was purchased over 15 years ago to replace GE, which we purchased when children were little. I wanted a step up in quality. I remember paying around $499 for this unit. This is an analog unit. The intellidry feature has been a real asset, protecting our clothes from over drying. We have had this machine for nearly 20 years. It has been real reliable, sometimes drying 20 loads a week. Large capacity, but has to fit down a narrow and twisting stairway. Must be energy efficient, have good reviews and decent price. We always look for sales or buying incentives. Brand is secondary to quality. Knowledge of an appliances historical reputation is important. I would look at reviews, especially concerning cost of repair. I would attempt to get a hands-on view, before purchase from a reputable supplier at the best price. My dryer has only required one major repair in the time Ive had it. A few years ago we replaced the motor and blower, and I have personally replaced the drum support rollers twice. I hesitate to replace this machine, because the analog controls have proved very reliable.

Cloths come out wrinkled, tore up with holes and I have like bleach spots on clothes that I didn’t use bleach with. Now the washer is screeching and coming UL. My husband thinks its the bearings and tub seal. Called Sears and parts alone are 185.00 not counting labor. Of course its out of warranty now. Seen comments about a class action lawsuit. I really think this product deserves one. We purchased the HE commercial brand for our family of 7. It has been running mostly fine for about 2 1/2 years. It started making a horrible grinding noise about 3 months ago. It was getting worse and worse. I decided to google the issue and discovered there was a common problem with a nut falling off the bottom. I leaned the washer back and found the nut on the floor, right below the center of the pulley. I reattached it by removing the pulley guard which had been getting cut by the loose and wobbly pulley, put some superglue on the nut and reattached it to the bottom. NO MORE NOISE!! Im willing to bet that this has caused slippage of the pulley, poor performance and many other issues. Maytag should do something about it.

My original Maytag washer lasted over 25 years (still using dryer purchased in 1977). But the Maytag model SAV 4655AWW I bought a few years ago is a piece of junk! Not long after it was out of warranty, it started making noise. Not overly loud, but noisy. Since then, though it makes such a loud noise, you can hear it 3 rooms away. It leaks water from the seals, shakes and vibrates all over the place (even when level). The rocking appears to be due to pathetic self-leveling legs they put on the back of the washer. I had to put a 2x4 on the back side of the washer to keep it stable. That took care of the rocking, but still noisy, leaking water and now it gets off balance when spinning and stops. It also wont start sometimes and you can smell it overheating. The transmission is now going out of it. This thing has been one issue after another. What is worse about it is I saw in another forum that this washer wasnt even made by Maytag. Supposedly Maytag bought? After the purchase, they just put their name on it. I bought a Maytag because of the dependability of their previous products, so Im thoroughly disappointed in their company and products. If I had wanted a washer built by some other company, I would have purchased it versus theirs. If you purchase a Maytag, you expect to get a product designed and built by them. Ill never buy another Maytag product and Ill thoroughly research the product Ill buy to replace this hunk of junk. My advice would be dont waste your money on Maytag.

I have an MSD2542VEB01 model refrigerator purchased slightly over two years ago. I have the same problem as many others, which is the plastic breaking on the shelves. The first time, it was within a year and the part was under warranty. It is now a year and a half later and one is broken beyond use and another is cracking again. Maytag refuses to help me as there is no “recall and the plastic is not available separately from the easily removable glass of the shelf. The least expensive price that I can find for the shelf is $107 and I need two of them. $214 (plus shipping) when all I need is two pieces of plastic? Be very careful when selecting your appliances.

A letter was written to the Maytag Customer Center on July 12, 2014 complaining about the washers inability to clean or rinse clothes effectively. As of this date we have had NO direct contact from Maytag. After reading many reviews and noting that I have seen over 700 people which had issues with this machine, I wish that I had never purchased from Maytag. I have had to purchase a new machine to replace this useless Maytag. When I ask a used appliance dealer if he would be interested in purchasing my Maytag Bravos, his reply was, I dont want any Maytag Bravos in my store.I have made an effort to obtain some type of satisfaction from Maytag, but to no avail. I would like 100% refund for this purchase. If Maytag does not meet the expectations of its customers, then I feel that a class action law suit should be started through consumer affairs. When you cant even get a used appliance dealer to purchase a used Maytag Bravos, then there is a real problem with the product. The purchase price was $616.55. A total waste!!

I did some research & found there were a lot of problems with the control panels & even a class action lawsuit. I went to Home Depot & they said contact Maytag & brushed me off. I set up a repair per warranty & all was fine for 10 months & same problem has happened again. I told them at Home Depot to replace the unit since nearly every repair job on the control panels prematurely fail again every time. I am going back to the Home Depot again. I do have older Maytag appliances that perform as required & I do know Lowes would have replaced the defective dishwasher.

Within the first 2 years, the machine sounded like the bearings were going out (heavy, grinding noises when it shifted gears). Repairman came, replaced the entire drum (only way to get to the gears, I guess). Didnt fix a thing. Then the rinse and spin cycle on ANY wash cycle randomly quits. Just stops. Full load of wet, soapy clothes, sitting in the tub while an LD error code quietly flashes.Its not uncommon for it to take two full days of screwing around with this machine to get one load of clothes done. Have to UNPLUG the machine, let it sit for about an hour, and try again. It is the biggest waste of money ever and I will NEVER buy another Maytag nothing. Contacted Maytag and they recommended I call a repairman...REALLY? REALLY? Gee, I wish I had thought of that. Repair guy has been to my house so damn many times for this machine, we are now friends on Facebook. Dont waste your money on this machine.

Maytag Dishwasher MDB77495 - We bought this dishwasher September of 2013. April 2013 when you pressed the option I wanted the options auto clean, rinse only, steam sanitize and delay hours. The thing would work when pressing start but I have no idea what it is doing. The repair man replaced the board and all was good for a couple of months then it happened again. The board was replaced again and in two more months it failed again. The repair man told me that moisture was getting to the board and there was corrosion on the ribbon mentioned in another review here. He contacted Maytag both times and gave them my contact information but they never called me + they told him that they have never heard of this happening with this machine. We had a Maytag machine 8 years ago where the board actually melted but like an idiot decided to try them again. I will never buy a Maytag again.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 400 in 2010 and it is now leaking like crazy and sounds like the bearings are going or gone in it. I researched washing machines for over a month before purchasing, and it seemed like this would be the machine for our active family. So much for research. It washes clothes okay, but is a bit rough on them. I found that it has ripped some of my more delicate items. When I contacted Maytag, they sent me an email with contact information to purchase a maintenance contract for $395 which would cover the machine for only 1 year. My husband is very mechanical and took the washer apart thinking the seal/gasket may have come off. He cleaned up the seal and the area around it, and put the seal back on. It did not help. He also noticed that the drive shaft to the motor was beginning to RUST! This machine is only 2 1/2 years old! So, if you are noticing that your whites are getting orange spots on them, this is probably happening to your washer, as well. Maytag should step up to the plate and recall this machine.

Buying online usually proves to be the easiest and cheapest way to go. Economical delivery costs. Noise and vibration and overall solid construction. Dancing washers can be a real cause for being a deal breaker. Auto shut off for balance is a must. Cleanliness of wash and wear caused by washing and drying. Large capacity and multiple cycle selections for both the washer and the dryer are necessary.

I went to Ebay and bought a NEW board for 1/7th of the price Maytag wanted. The old board was marked revision B. The new board is revision F! That indicates to me that the board was defective when it was new and they have made 5 attempts since then to fix it! No recalls however. Now the motor is shot. I found out the motor from Australia is also inferior! So this 5 year 3 month old POS Maytag is going to the dump! We will shop for something made outside the US. No not a Samsung. I think there should be a class action suit against Maytag.

Maytag Bravo Quiet Series 300 - I purchased the set 2.5 years ago and after 2 years, it started making a rubbing sound. I kept using it with having a family of 5 and this is why I purchased it in the first place; with 3 boys, I do a lot of laundry. It then quit working on me all together and wouldnt spin the clothes. I had a technician come out and it was the barriens that spun the drum so I had them fix it and it cost me $400. Then about a month later, it was flashing code F51 and not spinning. I had them come back out thinking it would be covered since it just got fixed but no, it cost me another $100. Now, 6 months later and here I am again unable to do laundry because its flashing F51 and wont drain or spin. I called Maytag and they tried selling me a warranty and said it wasnt recalled because there wasnt enough complaints. We need to all call and raise a ruckus. This is ridiculous. Sorry to hear everyone going through as I am.

Among them: Noise level is atrocious, water level is always low and cannot be adjusted, suds do not wash off, clothes do not come clean and get beaten up, takes an hour plus to do a load of laundry, frequently comes unbalanced, do not feel I can leave the house with this running, service calls have provided no fix, Maytag does not care. Do not buy! Saving my pennies to buy a different brand, will never touch a Maytag product again, Surprised there is not a Class Action lawsuit pending. When there is, Ill be right on board.

We purchased this washer 8 months ago, and still do not have a working unit. From the very beginning of installing the new washer we had repeated F4 and E1 error codes. A technician was sent out three separate times and they replaced the ACU each time only to have the same error codes recur. This unfortunately took 5 months as each time the ACU part was on backorder. After 3 failed attempts they agreed to replace the washer with a new one. We were dumbfounded when the new unit arrived and we had the same F4 and E1 error codes! They have again replaced the ACU and still we have the same error codes! They are sending yet another ACU but we have little confidence this will work and we are at a painful 8 months with no washer.

Im unhappy with mine. Would not purchase one again. I find my clothes arent clean and my kitchen clothes and towels always have a residue on them. So, I called Maytag who provided a repair number for the local authorized dealer appliance doctor. I called them 2 weeks later and the tech said, Before I do anything, you have a common problem I’ve been seeing with the motherboard in these machines. You should contact Maytag, and charged me a $100.00 service call fee. Then when I called the Maytag line, 1-800 253-1301, the first lady says I have 2 options: purchasing a $315.00 program plus which would send a tech, cover the part and 1 year warranty or get the number for an authorized repair place. But after hearing the first option, I didnt like either. She proceeded to tell me I could no longer have option 1 because I called a tech out. What?! Where do you think I got the number from, hello?! Then after I asked for a supervisor or manager, they put someone on the line who claimed to be the last and final authority (Robin) that I could speak to. When I asked does she have a boss, she said doesnt everybody? I said after several condescending comments by her. I am being treated like I am not the person who just spent 700 plus dollars and after only 3 years, my washing machine is out and you are treating me like I am the bad guy. I asked for a complaint line or email address to voice my concern but again Robin stated the buck stopped with her; what?! Is this the Maytag my family would own 20 plus years later going strong or a new version who doesnt care after you purchase their washer if it lasts or not? To ask me to spend 600 plus in repairs after you tried to offer me 300 plus in a program is ridiculous and I will never ever buy a Maytag because of this response plus treatment. I will have to buy a whole new washer after only 3 years but I am going to tell the entire world to avoid Maytag if they want a washer to last without any type of resolution beyond doing it yourself.

But who cares. I bought a new lg washer with great looks and had it just a year and 2 weeks. Had to spend another $200 on it. Still doesnt work right. Im Maytag all the way!!! It is a simple dryer. But it is a workhorse. It was a gift from my mother and have so much appreciated it. It has been an amazing piece of equipment. We renovated our kitchen in 2008 and installed all Maytag appliances. We had purchased a Maytag dishwasher 3 years prior to the renovation-- that we kept. Well, the dishwasher was the first Maytag appliance to go. After replacing several cheap plastic parts on the dish racks (I resorted to use twist ties at one point to hold the racks together) the racks started to chip and rust, leaving stains on our dishes. The cost to replace the racks was about $150 so we just replaced the dishwasher (with a Bosch - so far, no problems!)Then, a couple of the igniters on our gas cooktop stopped working. Since they were the back burners that we didnt use much, we just used a match to light them and let it go. Next, one of the hinges on the double wall oven door snapped. This is a little concerning because the doors are heavy and will need to be replaced. And the final straw concerns our French door refrigerator. The control panel started flashing wildly and the ice door was opening and closing with a loud clicking sound. Of course this happened on a weekend so I looked online and found hundreds, if not thousands, of similar complaints. So I called Maytag and spent nearly an hour on the phone only to be told that my model number was not one of the recalled ones. I explained that my problem was exactly like the others and was told that the best they could do was offer me 50% off any parts. The service call and shipping would not be covered either. The Maytag representative that I spoke to tried to cheer me up by telling me that at least they had the part I would need in stock, unlike the recalled models. Those parts are discontinued and have to be specially manufactured and have a two month waiting period. The part is about $250 and add to that the shipping and service call and I am sure this is going to cost me several hundred dollars even with the discount on the part. Very, very disappointed. Never again will I buy Maytag, never again!

I filed a copy of my complaint below with the BBB, who in turn forwarded it to Maytag. They sent me a form with rules that they call Dishwasher Recall. Maytag will send me a $250 Prepaid MasterCard, providing that I: 1. Remove the old dishwasher myself. 2. Destroy the machine and/or render it inoperable. 3. Sign and date under PROOF OF DESTRUCTION AFFIRMATION that I have complied. Statement on the form (Your signature is your confirmation that you have complied). 4. Purchase a stainless steel machine (over $700). They list models you should buy. 5. Record on the form; Model Number, Serial Number, Purchase Price, Store where purchased, and Date purchased. 6. Send the signed Rebate Form back along with the sales slip. (Sales slip must show clearly Purchase Date, Purchase Price and Retailer Name). 7. Allow 6 to 8 weeks from the time the Rebate form is mailed. Are they kidding?! If I were to buy a machine at Home Depot, they will deliver, install and remove the old machine. I dont think I would take a Maytag dishwasher for free.

I would rather have my money back, go somewhere else, and get a new washer. I will never buy anything from Sears again. They could not send a person out for other repairs for 1 week. Then they would have to send out for parts, because the drum is peeling on the tops. So that means more time to wait for parts to come in, and the machine is not spinning out. The cycles are not washing right; sometimes, they wash a cycle 2 times.Sears does nothing but give you a runaround. And the Morrisville Vt. store manager is so rude. He was talking to me like I was stupid. Now, I have to wait 3 more days before a washer comes in from the warehouse after Sears told me it was coming on 4/24 between 9:45-11:45. Then the manager told me I could take the floor model if I want it today, which has scratches on it. I was hoping someday to buy the dryer to match the washer. He said they were out 7/2011, 9/2011 and again 9/2011 all for the same problem. I requested in September 2011 that this was a lemon and send me another. One in which was apparently a recall at one point. I was told by a Maytag representative that the recall was from 2007 to 2009 and has since expired. Expired? Its a known defect and should be the responsibility of Maytag to provide the parts and labor to repair the fridge. I asked for a supervisor and was told that one would contact me within 24 hours. Well, about a week later, I never received that call so I called Maytag again. This time I was told by the maytag representative and a supervisor that there was no recall and that it was a Quality issue. A play with words, in my opinion. Anyhow, regardless of the title the issue was given, I was told I would be responsible for the repairs and costs. I attempted to look up the recall on Maytags website and had seen the last two letters of the serial number to my fridge listed under the recall, but when I tried to investigate further, the site referred me to the 800 phone number I had been calling. Now, had this been an issue that was not a known defect and apparently a recall, I wouldnt be writing on this site right now. But, because it is a known defect that maytag is aware of, I think its Maytags responsibility to pay for the parts and labor for my fridge.

We have replaced two thermo fuses, one door latch/switch and now need the front control panel and handle because two mounting locations for the six screws have broken off. At first we were very pleased. The ability to do bulky loads was great and the high spin cycle left the clothes almost dry. In 2018 (keep in mind, just 5 years!) we started to hear a grinding sound in the washer when on rinse cycle and the dryer would randomly turn itself on! Strange but true. I called Maytag Canada and they sent someone right away. They had to replace the motherboard on both the washer and dryer as well as the drum and gears on the washer. Fortunately this was covered under warranty.Fast forward 1.5 years. Same issues with washer...technician came and could not identify the problem, although I did tell him it was the same as 1.5 years ago. I ended up recording the sound and asked them to resend technician to the house. After further diagnostics, yup...same problem. Two days went by and I received a call back advising me that the cost to repair would be over 700.00, not covered by warranty! I escalated to management, to no avail although they did offer me 15% off my next Maytag purchase! They sent someone out to replace the faulty recall, which the recall says there is an electrical wiring failure that can cause a fire, so they replaced part. First girl said that recall has been known to burn out the control panel so we have to pay for a service person to come out and diagnose it, if that is it, they will pay to repair it. Then when he does diagnose it, we call back, the next person says no, the recall has nothing to do with the control panel, that it is just a bracket that holds up the heating element... REALLY. Well then the Consumer Protection Agency has the wrong info because I just looked on there and the recall says, Electrical failure with the heating element that is not related to a bracket, I can read and I am not stupid, so we were out the $50 service call, so we finally got them to agree and pay for the part, but we would have to pay to put it on...HHHHHH NO, I am not spending another dime on service calls, I could spend the same amount and go and get a scratch and dent dishwasher for the same or just a little more. We are calling back tomorrow to argue more with them, then I am emailing the local TV station that handles these kind of issues. MAYTAG is a piece of nothing, I will never buy this or anything with their name on it again....

The fixes NEVER work and then they have to order ANOTHER part and I have to wait for the part AND THEN the service person. I should not have to wait once the part comes in. People who have been waiting should be at the TOP of the list. In less than 3 years it has failed already. The water inlet valve went bad. Maytag offers no tech support because they want to charge you with a service call. I found out what was wrong by researching the problem and error code online and bought the part for $55.00 and fixed myself instead of them charging $100.00 just to show up at your door plus the part and labor. A washer failing in less than 3 years is totally unacceptable and I will never purchase another Maytag/Whirlpool product ever again. Someone needs to wake up at Maytag.

I agree with everyone else on here. I would give this Maytag Neptune washer less than 1 star if I could. I also purchased this washer 5 years ago when I bought a new house. According to their commercials, the Maytag repairman is bored because their products are so great. I believe it is because the cost to fix their merchandise when it breaks costs so much.I had a 5-year warranty on my purchase and this washer started making this awful noise but the company wouldnt repair it because it was not broken. However, here I am less than 5 months later, and the bearings are so bad, the tube is scraping and falling apart and leaving plastic pieces in my clothes. I have a 3 year old I dont need plastic pieces in my clothes. The day after, we noticed the hardwood in kitchen buckling up far from refrigerator and the laminate in dining room bubbling, even though there was no visible sign of water. Called Maytag repair company but they couldnt come out for a couple of days. Called another local repair service familiar with Maytag refrigerators and he couldnt find anything wrong with refrigerator even though he knows leaking caused by refrigerator. Called insurance co. and they sent over service master. Leak is definitely coming from refrigerator. They had to pull up hardwood floor, part of walls, the dining room. They now have five large fans going and a defroster to dry things up. This is upsetting, as my daughters wedding is next month, my husband is currently laid off and I dont need this kind of aggravation again. I love the french door idea, so roomy for my large family, but I am now afraid of this refrigerator. I dont want it but think it is ridiculous I have to shell out more money when the refrigerator is less than 3 years old. So, it wasnt hard to buy a Samsung front loader and have the miserable Maytag hauled away to wherever badly designed machines go. Trying to wash clothes using high speed spinning instead of water causes excessive wear on the clothes and the machine as well as tying the clothes in knots. It is one of the worst mechanical designs I have ever seen.

Purchased the Neptune washer & dryer in 2002. Did not purchase any additional warranty. I have had Frigidaire, Kenmore and Speed Queen washers previously and used them until they quit. I have not had any problems with either the washer or dryer. No mold, no smell, nothing. I did laundry for 2 children and 2 adults, 6 to 8 loads per week with half being heavily soiled work clothes. I still wash 3-4 times a week. I was able to wash & dry king size blankets and comforters for the first time with this set. Washer and dryer are located on the main floor of house and are the quietest units I have ever owned. They may quit tomorrow, but they have done the job that they were designed to do. I am well satisfied with the quality and performance of both units and would not hesitate to purchase Maytag appliances again.

We bought a Maytag Bottom Freezer Model MBB1952HEW in 2006. We have already replaced the relay, two years ago, now the compressor is going. I have seen recalls of the top freezer on the internet but not on the bottom freezer. It is concerning when you pull your refrigerator out from the wall as to how warm/hot it is back there. We were told it would be cheaper to buy a new refrigerator versus replacing the compressor. We are so disappointed in how much money we have stuck into this refrigerator for how old it is. I would expect a refrigerator from a reputable company to last longer than 6 years.

We waited almost a month for the parts to come in just to have the technician say that didnt fix the problem. We have been waiting a 1.5 months for a resolution with nothing in sight. Now we have to either way another TWO months for another part, buy a new washer and get refunded for the old one (but WE would be responsible for the almost $300 price difference it now is), or wait for a new washer to come in stock and Maytag will replace it. However according to them there are no washers in stock for the foreseeable future. This company has been a joke to deal with. I have everything recorded and will take this further.

Purchased an over the cooktop microwave 3 years ago, it came with a 20 year warranty. It stopped working and I promptly emailed Maytag customer service. It took them over 3 weeks before they responded. That is not acceptable. Did they think I had a back-up microwave to take its place until they finally got around to reply to me? Well we could not wait, and we just threw that piece of junk out and had it replaced with a competitors unit. We will never buy Maytag again and will inform anyone we know about the poor operation of Maytag products and lousy customer service. My suggestion to anyone considering Maytag products is to not waste your time and money and look to another manufacturer.

I called Maytag, my washer is out of warranty. After discussing the situation with knowledgeable appliance people, they said it is probably the motherboard. I know how expensive that is to repair and pay for a repairman to diagnosis the problem. I decided to purchase a new washer. Of course, it was not a Maytag. I read online all the people with same or similar problems left out of luck. This is an outrage and Maytag should not be allowed to get away with producing, selling and not standing behind the products. These machines should have been recalled and replaced with ones that are upstanding and will last for more than 2 years.

After many, many service calls and a replacement refrigerator, I was told to dump the ice twice a week and get ice out of the dispenser all day long. Really? All day long? It is model #bmft2771web1. They will not take care of this problem. It is a defect but they will not take responsibility for it. I now have a problem with my Maytag double oven! The temp on the bottom oven is 25 to 50 degrees off. I am waiting for my dishwasher and microwave to be next. I will never buy another Maytag. Buyer beware. I have to buy my ice from 7-Eleven. Thats why I bought a $ 2,100 refrigerator, so I can get my ice elsewhere!

No real problems with the dryer, HOWEVER, may with the Washer. Had the pump go out in 2/2010 to the tune of $199.20 due to a small object in the pump. The repairman said it would just take a very inexpensive part from Maytag to prevent this. In 6/2012 washer not draining, clogged pump. All right, new to HE Washers, so told to use less detergent than detergent manufacturer recommends. $79.13 to fix clogged drain. Even though being careful with items in pockets, loose buttons, etc. AGAIN had pump go in 1/13, $214.22 (same problem cheaper in 2010, repair inflation). Wed noticed it was loud on the spin cycle (like a rocket going off) and were told at that visit the bearings would need to be replaced, and quoted approximately $280 to repair those. Havent fixed, waiting for something else to go wrong and then decide what to do with it. So in 4 years paying almost the purchase price of the unit (if I fixed bearings also). Crazy. If you bought a house and had to pay 4/5 of the house to repair it in that short of a time, no one would own a house!!!

Ice cream was soupy, bread did not freeze. I called Good Deals Appliance in Fort Myers, FL where I bought the refrigerator 3 days after delivery to report the freezer problem. They sent a service tech out who looked at it and said the model I bought has no freezer control so it could not be fixed. The store I bought it from said Whirlpool, who owns Maytag, said 10 degrees is acceptable for the model I bought so there was nothing the store or Whirlpool would do to replace it. I called Whirlpool numerous times, was on hold for over half an hour each time and was told 10 degree freezer temp is acceptable. After considerable arguing, they agreed to send a second repair person who came out and said the freezer temperature problem could not be fixed. After numerous additional calls, a complaint to the BBB and a stop payment on my Visa, Whirlpool sent a third service person who said it could not be repaired. I began the round of phone calls to Whirlpool again as well as to the Good Deals salesman who has been as useless as possible, continually saying it is our problem to deal with Whirlpool. The BBB contacted me and then Good Deals who said Whirlpool has agreed to replace the refrigerator but I have to contact Whirlpool. I have called Whirlpool, waited forever on hold, and left three messages and no one has returned my call. Whirlpool should not call what they do customer service. They are rude and argumentative and make it very difficult for customers to contact them and even more difficult to get a defective appliance replaced. DONT EVEN CONSIDER BUYING WHIRLPOOL OR MAYTAG APPLIANCES?

After writing a polite but stern complaint to several of the executives at Maytag and Whirlpool we got a call from their executive assistant. She arranged to have a technician come out to our house and assess the installation. He found nothing wrong and Maytag replaced the control panel for free. The technician has seen numerous faulty electronic control panels, and not just with Maytag. He would not recommend a preferred make or model. He longed for the old mechanical timer switches, which we could no longer find in the newer models. With enough customer complaints maybe they will do something about the electronic control panel in the future.

I was told that the vent/chute between the freezer and fridge ices up and prevents the cold air from the freezer to go through the fridge. The tech said that Maytag was sending him a tube of silicone to apply all around freezer and fridge and that this will probably fix the problem. So in other words, because of a design flaw, the refrigerator cannot function without adding silicone (maybe). I believe I purchased a lemon with a design flaw and they want me to accept a permanent band-aid as the solution. Shouldnt I have right to demand another model instead of having to accept a cheap alternative (silicone)? Now, if factory installed parts break off, can you imagine silicone tubed in after the fact where there was no silicone crevasse? I cant imagine it staying on - permanently.

The estimate to fix the machine ($980) exceeded the initial cost. It did not clean the clothes adequately when it was working. There was a powdery substance on the clothes when they were removed. The clothes were always bunched up and intertwined. Only the proper type and amount of soap was used. I cant recommend this washer to anyone. We were very disappointed since we have always purchased Maytag washers/dryers. Never again.

Purchased this double oven back in 2012 and have had to have the control valves replaced twice because of them jamming and snapping. The burners are undersized for cooking and it takes forever to get water to a rolling boil. The broiler in the upper oven needs constant attention when using it because food cooks unevenly and burns quickly. The lower oven is great, convection is awesome. I have seen the Maytag repairman more from my stove than I have for any of the other appliances I owe combined. Maytag should stick to appliances that only use water.

The fridge itself works very well when it does, but some things are just wrong/flawed with the French door fridge.1. The Evaporator mechanism is flawed and keeps accumulating frost over the Thermistor sensor, which in turn shuts off the fan and the fridge itself stops cooling rendering all the produce bad within hours of purchase. The freezer and icemaker works fine during this time. The first time a tech came in during Warranty period and put come Aluminum foil over the thermostat and zip tied it and told us that the issue is resolved. Fast forward 18 months or so, same issue. This time they want to replace all parts since the last time it did not fix it. How convenient isnt it? So now I have to shell 500 plus bucks to solve what was not fixed the last time. Flawed design is all it is; do not purchase any of the French door fridge from Maytag/Whirlpool or be prepared to buy an extended warranty and a down fridge every 12-15 months at the minimum. In my case shell out 500 bucks every 15 months I guess.2. Sloppy icemaker: Ever heard of an icemaker that thinks and drops 4-5 cubes when requested and thinks again before giving another 4-5 cubes?
