MIDDLETOWN, PA — The Pennsylvania Lottery has opened the Eagles Second-Chance and special Online Prize Drawings, providing players the opportunity to win tickets to an Eagles regular season home game for the 2024 season.

Players can enter non-winning $5 Eagles Fast Play game tickets into the Second-Chance Drawing until September 12, with each ticket earning five entries. Additionally, the Online Prize Drawing is open from August 7 through September 11, allowing players of the online version of the Eagles game to win tickets to a regular season home game.

Participants can enter through the VIP Players Club at palottery.com or use the Official App. Winners will be announced on the website. Players are encouraged to submit entries promptly and to play responsibly. Mailed or late entries will not be accepted, and games will remain available for purchase after the promotion concludes.

    Erie Police Involved in Early Morning Shooting with Carjacking Suspect

    ERIE, PA—An 18-year-old carjacking suspect was shot by Erie police early Friday morning after reportedly firing at officers. The incident occurred near Fifth and State streets, where the main stage for the CelebrateErie festival was set up.

    The confrontation took place shortly after 4:00 AM in downtown Erie, in the vicinity scheduled for evening events of the CelebrateErie festival. According to city officials, the suspect is now in stable condition at UPMC Hamot. Fortunately, no police officers were injured during the incident.

    Despite the early morning violence, the CelebrateErie festival will proceed as planned. The crime scene has been cleared, and production crews were seen completing the stage setup for performances scheduled to start at 5:30 PM. The city confirmed that CelebrateErie activities began at 11 AM throughout downtown Erie.

    Atlantic City Police Arrest Elderly Man Threatening Murder-Suicide

    ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — A 75-year-old Missouri man was arrested in Atlantic City on Saturday night after allegedly threatening to kill himself and a woman during a domestic dispute, according to the Atlantic City Police Department. Officers responding to the incident recovered a loaded handgun from the scene.

    The incident occurred on August 17 at approximately 9:30 p.m. in a motel on the beach block of Iowa Avenue. Police were alerted to the situation after it was reported that James Pace, of Blue Springs, Missouri, had threatened to shoot both himself and a woman he was in a relationship with during an argument. The threats were made while Pace was in possession of a firearm.

    Upon arrival, officers located Pace and arrested him without incident. A loaded handgun and additional ammunition were recovered from the scene. Following his arrest, Pace was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for evaluation.

    Pace has been charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and terroristic threats.

    The Atlantic City Police Department has not released further details as the investigation continues.

    Two Dead in Wrong-Way Crash on Dupont Parkway in Middletown

    MIDDLETOWN, Del. — A wrong-way crash on Dupont Parkway early Sunday morning claimed the lives of two Smyrna residents, according to the Delaware State Police. The collision, which occurred around 12:30 a.m. on August 18, is under investigation.

    Authorities reported that a blue 2022 Honda Civic was heading southbound on Dupont Parkway, near the intersection with Harris Road, when it was struck by a northbound black 2015 Jeep Wrangler traveling in the wrong direction. The front of the Jeep collided with the Honda in the left southbound lane.

    The driver of the Honda, a 62-year-old man, and his passenger, a 51-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both victims were from Smyrna, Delaware. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of their family.

    The driver of the Jeep, a 28-year-old woman from Massey, Maryland, was critically injured and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

    The section of Dupont Parkway where the crash occurred was closed for approximately four hours as authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.

    The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation. No further details have been released at this time.
