The Ancient Creature's Lair: Star Wars Outlaws The Heavy Quest Walkthrough (2024)

This guide will show you how to complete the Star Wars Outlaws quest, The Heavy. Kay is in search of a potential crew member for Jaylen’s heist mission, though tracking down The Heavy will have you traveling to Tatooine.

How to get The Heavy Quest

When you find the Nav Computer on Toshara, Kay is tasked with finding a crew to help pull off Jaylen’s grand heist. Finding the right crew for the job will require you to travel all over the galaxy.

ND-5 recommends going to Kijimi for the Safecracker first, though you can also start on Tatooine for the Heavy or Akiva for the Droidsmith. In this guide, we’ll be looking for the Heavy, known as Hoss.

As always, during the walkthrough, we will point out any and all valuable items like treasure chests you can grab while doing this quest.

Meet the Sheriff

When you first visit Tatooine, there will be a dogfight going on in orbit. Some of the ships will start attacking you. You can ignore them and focus on landing on the planet.

You’ll land at a small village south of Mos Eisley known as Wayfar. A Sheriff here has recently arrested Hoss, so you’ll need to find them to get his whereabouts.

When you step out of the Trailblazer, turn around to see the village behind you. Go down the main path and to the right will be the sheriff.

Talk to the sheriff and a cutscene will start. Once the cutscene is over, take out the Hutt thugs attacking the village. Follow the Sheriff Quint back in her office for another cutscene.

The Abandoned Moisture Farm

Quint will tell you that Hoss has been hold up at a moisture farm. This farm will be west of your current position. Make your way there and rappel down the grapple point on the roof.

You’ll see a body behind a slightly ajar door, but you can’t get to it without any power. Look for a door with a shutter next to it, have Nix open the shutter and shoot the power conduit inside with your ion blaster.

When powered, the door to the right of the shutter will open. Go inside and when you’re in the workshop, look to the ceiling.

You’ll find two power conduits you’ll need to power up with your ion blaster. This will open the large door and allow you to activate the power generator.

With the farm powered up, you can explore all of the rooms in the vicinity. Start by lockpicking the panel to access a room with a couple chests. You’ll get some credits and upgrade materials.

Go back to the room where you saw the body. You’ll learn that it’s a bounty hunter with a transponder targeting Hoss. With this transponder, you can use it to find him somewhere in the Jundland Wastes.

Exit the farm by going up the stairs and you’ll find three bandits right outside. Take them out and summon your speeder to start making your way north to the Jundland Wastes.

The Jundland Wastes

Follow your marker to the Jundland Wastes north of the abandoned farm. You’ll run into a pack of massiffs when you reach your destination. Take out the massiffs in the area then inspect the landspeeder crash site.

Go north and start climbing up the rock ledges and you’ll find a grapple point. Rapel up the wall and you’ll notice that you have some company.

Use another grapple point to get across the gap, climb up the rocky ledges, and squeeze through a crack in the wall. You’ll start a cutscene and get introduced to Hoss and his current predicament.

If you can return a stolen Krayt Dragon Pearl to the Tuskens, they’ll release Hoss. Your only choice to move forward with Jaylen’s plan now is to steal back the pearl and buy back Hoss’s freedom.

The Ancient Creature’s Lair

Use your speeder to go northeast towards your map marker. On your way to the cave, you’ll be attacked by a pair of bandits on speeders. Take them out and continue up the ledge to the Ancient Creature’s Lair.

Defeat the two massiffs in your path and head inside the Ancient Creature’s Lair cave. Once inside, you’ll be in a hostile area filled with bandits.

Wait for the pair of bandits ahead of you to walk away and pull out your binoculars to mark as many bandits as you can.

If you would like to sneak your way through, make a right and go up the incline. If you do this right, you’ll only need to knock out 3 guards.

When the patrolling guard is away, knock out the one closest to you. Then take out the patrolling guard and the guard on the rock bridge. Jump across the gap and follow the path to press on.

When you find yourself in the dimly lit cavern, use the grapple point above you to swing over to the rock wall. Going up will lead you to the Krayt Dragon Pearl while going left will lead you to a large chest with upgrade materials.

You’ll enter a dark cave where Kay will light up her flashlight. To your left is a boulder you can blow up with your Power blaster.

Breaking the boulder will reveal a large chest with credits inside. Once you loot that, go right of where the boulder was and you’ll enter the bandit’s main lair.

Stealing Back the Krayt Dragon Pearl

With your binoculars, you can see the Krayt Dragon Pearl across the room. Unfortunately, you have nearly a dozen bandits between you and it.

To sneak past the bandits, wait for the patrol to face away from the right side of the room and take the right path. Knock out the bandit and hop onto some bars to scuttle your way across the gap. Take down the bandit on the other side.

Knock out the two bandits ahead of you and pick up the Krayt Dragon Pearl. Head east and sneak past the bandits while keeping aware of the patrol’s position. Exit the large door and close it immediately after passing through it.

From here it’s a straight shot outside if you follow the path by swinging across the gap and climbing up some rock walls.

When you exit the cave, a cutscene will start and Hoss will want to meet you in Mos Eisley. With the end of the cutscene, you will complete the quest The Heavy.
